About Our Church
Our community transcends physical boundaries, bringing together the community.
Our Community Is One Of Welcome & Inclusivity
We are also a community committed to spiritual growth and development. Through prayer, the sacraments, and various spiritual practices, we aim to strengthen our relationship with God.
Mission
Our Mission is to glorify God by joining the work of Jesus Christ in our community: making disciples, proclaiming good news, confronting injustice, and serving our neighbors with truth, compassion, and Spirit-empowered action.
Vision
Our Vision is to be a Spirit-led church that embodies Christ's liberating love, forms courageous disciples, and advances justice, healing and hope throughout our community.
What We Believe
At Capital Presbyterian Church, we believe in the one true God - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost-who creates, redeems, and sustains all life. We believe that God is revealed most fully in Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection bring forgiveness, liberation, and new life to the world.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, faithfully interpreted through prayer, study, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and always read through the love and justice of Jesus Christ. We are grounded in the Reformed tradition and shaped by the lived faith, resilience, and hope of the Black church.
We believe all people are created in the image of God and are worthy of dignity, belonging, and grace. We believe faith is lived out through worship, service, justice-seeking, and loving our neighbors as ourselves.
We trust that God is still at work-calling the church to be a beacon of hope, healing, and faithful witness to the world.
Our Denominational Family
We are members of the Carlisle Presbytery, which provides regional support, shared ministry opportunities, and a connection to neighboring churches.

Capital Presbyterian Church is a historic congregation committed to living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ in ways that are faithful, relevant, and rooted in love. We believe worship transforms lives, community heals wounds, and faith must be lived beyond the walls of the church. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we seek to be a church where people are known, nurtured, and called into purposeful service.
